I love Franklin Sq! The only downside (for us) was that it is not in a great location when commuting via LIRR.

I live in Franklin Square...just bought a house in June. We love it!! We live on a quiet dead end street and love how close we are to everything if we wanted to walk. The school district is good. We both drive to work but the closest LIRR to my house is the Stewart Manor stop....about a mile away....guess you could walk it if it was a nice day. HTH

one of my friends lives there and loves it. Newsday just did a huge story about it -- how there are so many housing options - meaning different price ranges - in the town.

I always liked the area, I grew up nearby in Floral Park.

My BIL (DH's brother) just recently purchased a home there and he and his family love it there! We go to visit them every so often, it's a beautiful neighborhood.

Re: Anyone have any rants/raves about Franklin Square?
I live in FS and it is beautiful.
There are many parts to FS.
There is "north of the turnpike" with the Franklin Square school district. Houses are closer together...alot of capes. Nice area.
Then there is the FS that borders Elmont...off of Hemp. Turnpike and Franklin Ave.
There is "the heart of FS" which is off Sempton Ave. and Hemp. tpke. Again...more capes...houses are closer together.
I live in the section called DOgwood Estates or Morton Estates. It is off Dogwood ave. School district 13 (very good). Mostly all ranches or brand new colonials. Taxes are VERY high. But it is gorgeous over here.
FM for more info if you'd like.

I've actually lived in just about all of them except the part that borders Elmont.
I can truly say the area I'm in now, which is the same as Joenick is the BEST. (except I'm in FS SD)
