Anyone have experience with letrozole and/or prednisone
I'm taking both for this cycle. The letrozole is making me really groggy. I have to take it twice a day, so I wait until I get to work and after I get home, so I won't be driving while groggy. Has anyone had prior experience with this and have any tips for fighting the grogginess?
I'm also going to be taking prednisone for 3 weeks. I've heard that prednisone can make you really bloated. I was just wondering if anyone had any tried and true methods for keeping the bloat at bay.
TIA

Prednisone is a steroid so weight gain is possible. I took it w/my FET cycle w/DD. I don't remember bloat but I did gain weight during that cycle probably from the prednisone.

Awesome! LOL
I've been eating really cleanly, so I'm hoping that will help minimize any weight gain. During my last cycle, which resulted in an early loss, someone told me I had a "cute pregnant belly." I'd be fine with that if I were pregnant, but who wants to hear that when they're not!

The letrozole gave me a loss of appetite. I felt full while on it. I was not very hungry. When I questioned the pharmacist, he said that it could be a side effect from it. Also, I took prednisone at the same time. It was a high dose. I felt bloated and looked it a little. Yet, I did not gain weight . Good luck with everything.

Thanks for your reply. Maybe, the letrozole and the prednisone will balance each other out, if one increases appetite and the other decreases it.

I liked the letrozole more than the clomid. Not as many side effects for me. I only took it once a day so I would take it before bedtime and sleep it off.
Prednisone I took as part of my Ivf protocol. Don't remember too many side effects although I was a bloated mess from all the meds as it was.

Thanks. The letrozole is only for 5 days, but I have to take it twice a day. It's just frustrating to be walking through a fog at work, but some of that can also be because I've had a really busy stretch of work.

I took Prednisone until I was 10 weeks. I felt okay on it and didn't have any major side effects. I did get some fluid filled cysts which I think was from being on it for so long. GL

I was on prednisone for my hearing loss for 2 weeks. I went up a clothes size while I was on it.

Anyone have experience with letrozole and/or prednisone
Thanks, everyone. I blew up like a balloon when I got home from work last night. I drank a ton of water, got up a few times during the night to pee and this morning the bloat wasn't so bad. I'll try to be more careful to stay hydrated during the day and keep watching what I eat.

hi there, Can you tell me why you are taking that protocol? What is it supposed to do? I'm curious and wondering who your doctor is. Thanks!

hi there, Can you tell me why you are taking that protocol? What is it supposed to do? I'm curious and wondering who your doctor is. Thanks!
Dr. Meyer at Carolina Conceptions came up with this protocol based upon my prior history of severe endometriosis. I was on a progestin only bcp for a few months before starting the cycle. Because endo is associated with being estrogen dominant, they chose a progestin only bcp.
Next, I had to wear an androderm patch for 5 days (well 1 patch a day for 5 days).
Now, I'm on the stims. I'm doing 2 vials of Menopur with 300 i.u. of Gonal F each night. The dosage was based on the fact that I was a poor responder during my last round. I'm also taking 20 units of human growth hormone each night for 10 nights to hopefully improve egg quality.
The prednisone is to hopefully reduce inflammation -- again based on the prior history of endo. As I understand it, the letrozole is supposed to help with ovulation.
I'll eventually have to add ganirelix into the mix to keep from ovulating too soon.

Re: Anyone have experience with letrozole and/or prednisone
I was on Prednisone till like 13 weeks. I was very hungry at first and I did gain some weight. After a couple of weeks my appetite decreased somewhat. At first I was very thirsty too but that subsided. It was worth it though. I'm now 20 weeks.
