Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

i mean, the kind that made you think that someone or thing was around you?

i had this time in my life when i'd find feathers everywhere. once, i buried a bird. when i went inside, there was a feather on the floor as soon as i walked in.

i would also smell flowers. i mean, i'd be sitting on the couch, watching tv and suddenly, i'd smell flowers. but it was winter and we didn't have any in the house and i was alone. strange!

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

My friend always believes that ladybugs are spirits in disguise. When he mother died, she would find this one ladybug in her house all the time. It was the middle of winter when she would find it...I don't think ladybugs are common in the winter...

Today, I was in my car and I turned the vent on while I waited for my DH and all of a sudden a ladybug flew out of the vent and landed on my lap. It made me smile because it made me think of my grandmother, who had died 2 years ago.
Chat Icon

After my grandmother died, I was reading in my bedroom when all of a sudden the picture frame above me turned on it's side. The rubber stoppers that were keeping it level came flying out and hit me in the head. When I called my DH to come in the room, he took one look at me and looked up at the picture frame and said...."What the hell did you do to the frame???" (because it was tilted so far on it's side) Kinda weird...

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

I'll try to make a long story short. When I was younger, I woke up from a sound sleep to hear a weird clicking noise. I turned on my light and I saw the doorknob of my closet moving back and forth. Of course I freaked out, but I figured that it was one of my brothers playing a trick on my, so I sat at the bottom of my stairs and waited for it to stop. When it did stop I ran upstairs and opened the door. Nothing was inside. It was very strange and I couldn't sleep for a while after that.

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

if we're talking spooky stories i def have my share.

i had the basement bedroom and everynight i would LOCK my door. i made sure i locked it. and EVERYNIGHT when i got up to go to the bathroom it would be unlocked!
Once i heard and saw the handle jiggling. i thought it was my dad and was like "NOT funny".... then i realized it wasnt and i got scared. i actually thought there was a person breaking in but it wasnt! my dad heard me screaming and came downstairs with a bat.
there was no one.

i would also ALWAYS hear tapping on my walls. usually the one next to my bed. very creepy. i learned to live with that.

the scariest of all was three nights in a row:
(side note: i sleep with the covers WAY over my head)
so i woke up one night in hte middle of the night and i was COMPLETELY tucked in!!! like it was folded down to my torso and completely tucked in!! I FREAKED out! i slept upstairs.
the NEXT night i was sleeping and then i woke up to someone bouncing up and down on my bed.... like a child at my feet it felt like.
It happened again the next night.

I think i slept upstairs for the next week straight.

My aunt also had a weird experience in that house. She saw ME in my white nightgown that i had gone to bed with.... she saw me come into the room she was sleeping in and turn off her fan.
She yelled at me the next morning... "what the heck were you doing?"
I didnt do it. that was weird.

Also, my bro & sis always see weird things in their bedroom. (it was my sisters room first, then she switched rooms and he now sees what she saw)

My brothers room is def haunted.
My mom kept hearing his door open and close one night, (he slept through it) and sometimes the dogs (hers) just stare in his room and growl.

SORRY SOOO LONG!
(this is def my type of thread!)

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

one time i was "punsished" or "time out" or whathaveyou.

anyway i was screaming and basically just being a pain in the azz. i was like "Moooom, Mooooommy let me out"... etc.
then i saw a black figure.
it slowy came to ...VERY slowly.
i was SOOOOO scared. the scared when you cant move. you freeze.

so of course i start screaming for my mom.
(it was in front of my door coming towards me, so i couldnt run past it to get to the door)

my mom didnt realize and was like "Be quiet! You're punished!!!!"

then i think she realized something was wrong.
i screamed bloody murder.

she finally came in my room and i RAN out. my baby sister was in there (she was like 1 or 2 at the time) i was like "GET SAMI OUT OF THERE".

THAT was scary and ill never get over that.

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

It is very likely someone who has passed leaves you these mementos. They also like to leave change around as well.

Sometimes I can smell my best friend who died tragically in a car accident. And her smell is so strong that I know it is not a figment of my imagination.

Also when you dream about them, they are communicating with you. When you sleep, you are open to things then when you are awake.

CREEPY!

my teacher told me about a friend of his who died.
she died and was brought back to life. i guess it was during surgery.
anyway, when she died she saw a door and two VERY evil, sinister, dirty looking demonic things waving her to open the door. she said NO and awoke.
she better fix her life if she doesnt want to see that again!!!

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

ok... this one is really weird, but i'll share.

it was a few weeks after my grandmother died last year. i was running errands, never turned on the radio, but there were 2 songs that i had stuck in my head and kept singing over and over again (I will remember you-the version by Amy Grant and 'these are the times to remember' by billy joel) Neither song is one that you'd hear OFTEN, but they just reminded me of her.

Anyway, i go home. Im alone, and i start cleaning. I put on the cable channel that plays the music, and those songs come on BACK TO BACK. so while the 2nd song is playing, i actually say outloud "yeah, nan, youre gonna have to try a little harder than that to prove that youre here with me", and the NEXT song that comes on was called HERE WITH ME by some country guy.

yeah, so i doubt that my grandmothers spirit had taken over the DJ at the cable company, but it totally Freaked me out (but in a good way, i guess?)

Re: Have you ever had an otherworldy experience?

My grandma whom I was extremely close to (I saw her as my mom) passed away 8 days before my birthday going on 2 years ago. The night before my birthday I was in bed with FH watching TV. FH had already fallen asleep and the way our room was setup at the time I had to look over him to see the TV so obviously if he moved I'd see it. Anyhow, I felt the bed move. It felt as if someone would have sat on the bed and FH had not moved. I looked at the clock and it was midnight. It was my birthday. I'm pretty sure it was my grandma that came to see me for my birthday.

Not long ago my 14 year old cousin that I grew up with so she's feels more like a sister, ran away from home. The night I found out I obviously, could not sleep and while in bed I prayed for my grandma to watch over her and protect her and more importantly bring her back. I had my eyes closed as I kept asking grandma to take care of her when suddenly I felt as if someone was stroking my arm to calm me down. I opened my eyes and of course nothing there. Not long after that I was lying in bed in the dark and I started aasking my grandma to give me a sign that she was still with us watching over us. As soon as I said give me sign, DH cell phone that was on the nightstand lit up.

One time last year I had gone to the cemetary to visit my grandmas grave and I bought her yellow roses the same as I used to when she was alive. I always treated her to the prettiest flowers. Anyhow, after I set them up by her headstone I stood up and looked down at them and I felt something tickle my arm. It was a yellow ladybug. I had never seen a yellow ladybug in my life and it just so happens that one landed on me as soon as I set up the yellow roses for my grandma. It weirded me out but now I have a yellow ladybug charm to remind me of my granny.

Also, when my grandma was in the hospital dying there were 2 gray pigeons outside her window on a regular basis. They even seemed to be looking in at us sometimes. The night before grandma died my aunt had a dream about doves. For some reason "Doves" just seemed fitting for my grandma. So we got her a casket that had doves embroidered on the inside and we released doves for her funeral. And after the fact we realized that the 2 gray pigeons outside her hospital window were probably her brother and sister that had already passed away coming to get her.
