anyone have PRK eye surgery?
I'm definitely getting either LASIK or PRK in two weeks! I meet with the surgeon next week to determine which one is best and for my pre-op. Can you please share your experience, especially regarding recovery!!

Re: anyone have PRK eye surgery?
I don't know what PRK is I had the RK surgery about 10 years ago and couldn't be happier. MY vision was bad and after the surgery I was probably about 20/30. I get a little starburst at night when i look into lights but nothing bad. The one thing I love is the effect it has on my aging eyes I still have no need for reading glasses when all my friends my age do.
My daughter had the Lasik. She needed a touch up a year later and now about 4 years after the surgery she needs contacts again.

Re: anyone have PRK eye surgery?
I had PRK done 6 years ago (3 years after a cornea transplant in the same eye) and could not be happier. My vision is 20/30. I do have some dry eye that affects the vision slightly, but it doesn't bother me. The recovery was easy from what I remember - I was back at work within 2 days.

Re: anyone have PRK eye surgery?
I did about 2 years ago! My vision was terrible but now I see 20/25. My eyes get dry occasionally but it isn't bad at all. The recovery was a bit tough for me because my vision varied for a few weeks, which was frustrating. I totally do not regret it at all..so happy I got the surgery!

Re: anyone have PRK eye surgery?
I had PRK done like 8 years ago and I just started wearing glasses and contacts again. Its a very low prescription versus what I had prior to my surgery but honestly I am disappointed.
They did tell me that I may have to come in for "touch ups" but I cant go through that procedure again. I know the procedure has changed since I had it done, but I dont want to keep messing with my eyes (if that makes any sense).
ETA: I had a rough recovery, but my brother had the same surgery only a few years ago and he didnt have the problems I had. The dr told him that they had changed the procedure since I had it done (we had the same doctor) so thats why his recovery was easier than mine.
