Anyone have the Sketchers Shape up sneakers or other similar ones?
Just looking for reviews. They are kind of pricey so before I get them I wanted to see if they were worth it.
I know they sell a Reebok version at payless for much cheaper, but I'm not sure if they are as good.
I figure once the weather gets nicer and I can walk outside with the baby, I'd like to try them- Lord knows it would be the only semblance of exercise I get!
Anyone have them? Do they work? What do you think?

DH got me the Reebok Easytone (its the ones with the two 'balance balls' underneath)...he got them from Modells...they were around 100 bucks...and a total waste of money IMO. I use them as my every day sneakers only because he bought them (as a gift because I was complaining about my weight LOL)...but dont feel any difference. I once attempted to use them to run and its definitely not made for treadmill use....again IMO...

I have the Skechers and they are SOO comfy! The minute I put them on I loved them. As far as working my muscles, I feel a very slight difference but not much at the end of a long day of wearing them. The thing is they are very bulky and not cute, IMO. I do like the idea of them so I might check out the Reeboks because they look more streamline.
If it was for pure "performance" I would say Skechers, if it was for overall (including look) I would say Reebok.

I wear the shape ups to the hospital & I love them but I have not noticed any difference in muscle at all. They are very comfy for standing & walking all day.

I have the sketchers shape up mary janes for work(I work events on the weekends and run around for 12 hrs straight.) The first time I wore them I didn;t feel anything other than normal soreness from all that walking. The 2nd time I had a huge flight of stairs(maybe 30) tht I was going up and down all night. My calves were KILLING me for 3 days-like I had done an intense workout so I definitely think they do work.
These are the ones I have

I have Reebok Easytones (because I preferred the look of these over the Skechers). I've only had them a few days so the jury is still out on whether they really tone, but they're super comfy!

A sneaker isnt going to make that much of a difference. IMO they are just a huge marketing ploy. Just go out and walk with the baby and you will see just as much results with a normal sneaker.

I have the sketchers..
honestly I feel like I walk funny in them.
they're comfy but if I look down at my feet I feel like I'm walking odd.
Sorry if that isn't helping lol

Yes I think they make you walk funny- almost like you are on a balance ball- to try to encourage you to use muscles you normally wouldn't to stabalize yourself... I think I might find that annoying though!

ditto! I absolutely hate those shoes.. IMO they are just a reason for people to be even more lazy.. nothing is going to help you but getting out there and working hard and breaking a sweat and I'm not directing this to anyone in particular just venting lol

I bought the Reebok ones a while ago when I needed black sneakers. I stopped wearing them when I read on a running message board that they screw up your gait.

haha yeah but I'm so uncoordinated I don't think I was balancing - I was seriously nervous I was going to do permanent damage by walking like a duck in them so I retired them to the back of my closet.
