Anyone have/thinking of having a home birth or going to a birthing center?
Not that I am pg yet, but ive been watching a whole lot of a baby story, and these water births and home biths seem very popular. I know I want to do it without the drugs, just curious to see what everyone else is doing/did

I would definitely consider having a home birth if we have another. It seems so much more relaxed and peaceful. I think I'd go for a water birth though. If you need a recommendation for a homebirthing midwife you can FM me.

The problem with water birth - as far as I know NUMC is the only place on LI that has a birthing tank, and I do not want to deliver there.
Home birth sounds good - but I am high risk and afraid to take the risk of any complications occurring.
I do want to try natural childbirth however.

.
You can rent a birthing tank if you birth at home. I agree with you about NUMC. I considered it because I wanted a water birth but decided I really didn't like the hospital,.

Here in the UK you are offered a home birth as standard now and I quite fancy it...however, as I already have one baby, the thought of being in a hospital where my husband and son CAN LEAVE ME ALONE IN PEACE FOR A FEW DAYS appeals to me even more!!!

I am not pregnant yet but I was thinking about giving birth at a birthing center at St Luke's Hospital.....St Luke's Hospital has one of the best centers in the country...it is a beautiful center (looks like a hotel room) with only one minus, no epidural....which I am not sure I can go without...
