Anyone have Vertigo?

And how do you deal with it?
I have Meniere(sp) disease, an inner ear issue that causes it. I havent had it much. LAst time it was bad was in the summer, but the last few days have been like living in hell.
I take anti-vert but it doesnt seem to help much.

I have it. Antivert does NOTHING for me. I don't get nauseous with it, so the antivert is useless for me. When I have any kind of congestion I just try and make sure that I sleep very elevated to avoid it settling in my ears. I have twinges of it often but I have not had a bad attack in a while- thankfully.Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have Vertigo?

Hey Donna, Im sorry ur not feeling well.. I dont have vertigo all the time but i experienced it a few monthes ago and was in pure agony so i am sorry ur experiencing this.. i went crying to the pharmacy b/c the meds that the dr gave me did nothing for my dizzyness..and thankfully the pharmacist told me to try motion sickness pills.. b/c supposedly they fix some of the equilibrium in ur body that ur inner ear is throwing off..and let me tell u it worked like a charm!!!! I felt sooooo much better, try that and see if it worksChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have Vertigo?

Thanks Guys!! Im so glad to hear at least Im not alone, yet sorry your going through this as well on occassion...My Dr said the Other day I should be lucky to get one or two spells a year, some people are debilitated by it..and to be 100% honest, I can imagine someone not wanting to live if they had to suffer from this all the time.

Its the worst ever this time.

The anti0vert does help with the naseousness which I get bad but doesnt seem to make it go away or prevent it??

And michi- the anti-vert is also like a motion sickness med. Its got almost all the same ingredients are like Draminine etc.,...but I think that maybe if It doesnt go away soon I will try other otc stuff , and see if anything else helps.

the ONLY thing helping right now is laying down and not moving my head at all, but cmon thats hard to do for long periods of time.

ANY other self help cures would be MUCH appreciated! Chat Icon
