Anyone here give birth BEFORE a scheduled C/S date?

I am planning day to day down to the wire here and all of a sudden this idea popped into my head about going into labor BEFORE my scheduled C/S date next week. What are the chances?


p.s. why do I do this to myself?

I think if you have a planned C/S and you go into labor beforehand.....you go to the hospital and still get the C/S.

A friend of mines' sister had this happen a day or 2 before the planned C/S

I was scheduled for a C-Section on September 10, 2007 and I went into labor September 3, 2007. Just to let you know I didn't feel any of my contractions at all.

I was home that day and I started to (TMI) vomit and I called my midwife and she told me I was going into labor and that I should go L&D. Sure enough when I got there and they hooked me up to the monitor I was having huge contractions that was 5 minutes apart. Thank God I wasn't feeling them. They gave me a shot to calm down the contractions because they didn't want the baby to come out vaginally because I was going to have the C-Section.

yes...I went into labor 2 weeks before my scheduled c section.
You do not have time to think. I think it was better for me that way...It will be o.k. if it happens.

I went into labor 4 weeks before my sceduled date. I went in to l&d and they decided to do the c section then.

Yep, with my first I did. I was scheduled for the last week in May (he was breech, so we scheduled the c/s). My water broke, I called my OB, went to the hospital and he was born less than 3 hours later (May 9th - 3 weeks early).

With my second, I also scheduled a c/s as a back-up, but she came 10 days early and I did not need the c/s after all.

I went into labor the morning of my c-section--lol At 3am I started to have contractions, and had to be at the hospital at 6am for my C.

One of my friends went into labor--actually twice--before her scheduled c-sections. I know she had to wait around for a while for the 2nd one because she had recently eaten and they require you to fast for several hours before the surgery.

Me--I did not, but I wish I did! Less time to stress over surgery!

Yes, both my kids who were c/s came before the scheduled date. Dd was a week early, DS was 2 weeks early. Honestly, it's not uncommon so I would def not get anything embroidered with the birthdate yet LOL It all works out fine though.

This happened to me, I went into labor before my scheduled c/s but it was after my initial due date sooooo I was hoping that it would happen.

My SIL had 3 c/sections and she never made it to her scheduled date.

It happened to me too. I was scheduled to have a c/s on 8/3 but I went into labor on 8/1. I still had a c/s because DS was still breech. I did feel some labor pains and went into transition before I had my c/s because another woman needed a more emergent c-section than I did.

MY BFF was due Feb 12, scheduled c was around 2/4...went into labor around christmas, they gave her meds to stop it, DD was born 1/15.... She was contracting a few days before so they did a c a few days later..

ETA: they think a contributing factor to her early labor was her DD's size, she probably would have been an 11 pounder if she went full term!
