Anyone here give dc stonyfield farm organic milk?

Ive decided to give dd organic milk b/c im not comfortable with giving my dd the milk dh and I use b/c of the hormones. So im new to the Organic world. I had used another brand and the expiration dates are close and dd doesnt drink it all by the time so found this one and its got alot more time on the date.. the container says Nov 1.

Wondered if anyone else here uses.. just found a bit weird how the expiration date is soo far and all the others are so close, hope that makes sense.

I buy this one a lot, I also use the Stop & Shop organic store brand (Nature's Promise). That brand also has the really loooong expiration dates.

I THINK the reason many organic milks are like this is due to the ultra-pasteurization process required of organic milk (because the cows are antibiotic-free), unlike regular milk. I will say that I can leave a carton of organic milk open in the fridge MUCH longer than regular milk, and it's still fine.

I give DD organic milk but Stonyfield is on the expensive side. I give DD Nature's Promise Organic; it's the Stop N Shop brand. It suffices and is $1.00 cheaper per half gallon than Stonyfield.

Yes, the expiration dates are much longer on Organic milk. When I go to Stop N Shop, I buy 5 and then I get a coupon for a free milk which I get the next time I shop.

ahh thanks guys!!! Ill have to check out the stop and shop brand. I just wanted to make sure i wasnt pumping dd something else that wasnt good for her to avoid the hormones on the other brands KWIM..

We use Stonyfield Organic for DD. When it came time to switch to milk, I knew I wanted organic, and there were several version available.

DH, of all people, wanted to try Stonyfield b/c we use the yogurt and he just wanted to use it. DD loves it and I keep wanting to switch to a cheaper one, but he wants to keep her on Stonyfield b/c DD likes it...surprising, but hey, I'll stick with it.

ETA: Supposedly the distant expiration date is b/c organic is ultra-pasteurized (whatever that means )

I buy any milk that is organic now. At first I was sticking to the one they sold at BJs - but now I get it from Stop and Shop (Nature's Promise and/or Horizon) or the one from Target (Archer's Farms) It just depends where I am shopping when I need to restock.

I have found that all organic milk has a longer shelf life - which is just another reason for me to love it! I also figured - if I'm putting Jack on organic milk - I may as well buy it for us too!

I have found that all milks from natyres promise to the BJs brand all taste like the container. Grosses me out. Stoneyfield Farms is always the best tasting IMO. $$ yes but worth it in taste

I use that or Horizon and have for the last year and a half. I haven't had any problems.

I also think Stonyfield is the best tasting! It's not that the Nature's Promise tastes bad at all... the Stonyfield is just BETTER somehow, kwim?

I started drinking organic milk along with my son since I've been PG again. So now I stick to mostly Stonyfield because it's MY fave, lol.

I always use this brand for milk and yogurt.
I personally believe hormones added to thing is to blam for early puberty.
We also started with a food company where everything is organic from the berries to the juice,pasta you name it-no meat is hormones added alllllllll organic and the chicken is from Amish country.
6 people--145.00 a week-because I bought the freezer and cutlery...its awesome.

Not that you asked for all that info...but..stonyfield is great! and the yogurt and cheese is too.

I drink it. I love it and the ultra-pasteurization is what makes the date longer. (well that and the extra chemicals do not spoil the milk). You still have to drink it within 7 - 10 days of opening it though.
