Re: Anyone here rub DC's back to help them fall asleep?
DD is 22 months, and yes, she still needs her back rubbed every night by one of us to get to sleep. We are trying to get her off of it, but its so hard. She's in a toddler bed now, so she gets out of her bed and stands at the baby gate at the top of the steps, screaming for us, so one of us just gives in and goes upstairs to do it. Not a good idea, I know. How old are your DC's?

I do if she is having a hard time falling asleep. She doesn't need it all the time, but occasionally. I'll also rock her if she needs that. Most nights she just goes to sleep on her own.

Re: Anyone here rub DC's back to help them fall asleep?
DS just turned 2. I rub his back if he's having a hard time falling asleep (like if he's sick, or every once in a while he wakes up crying during the night as if he had a nightmare or something). It DOES become a habit though-- even if DS has a cold and I do it 3 or 4 nights in a row, he CRIEEEESSSS the first night I stop doing it when he's better. Breaks my heart!!!
But in the end I think it's worth it, I really enjoy being able to give him that comfort and security when he needs it most
