Anyone just staying home for New Years?

DH and I are just going to have a quiet dinner at home w/ some wine. Money is so tight and the places that host parties are so expensive! I feel like the only one staying home though.

Nope, we're staying home as well. We may go to the movies Sunday evening, but nothing exciting for us.

We'll be staying home. Prob go out to a movie in the afternoon, but I plan on cooking us a big meal and toasting our first year as a married couple.

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

We are. If we had a babysitter, we would probably go out. We never ask anyone early enough though so we usually get a whole bunch of snacks and drinks for ourselves.

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

We're staying home. I hate being out on New Year's Eve. It'll be just the two of us with some drinks & dinner, and the hope that we'll be awake to watch the ball drop.

We usually stay in and get something like lobster tails and king crab legs. I am not fond of going out on New Year's Eve.

DH has to work on New Years day, so if we want to spend it together we will be alone at home...

We will be staying home. We're not big New Years people. We feel it's safer and cheaper to stay home.

Some years we get together at friends houses, but this year will be a quiet one for us. And that's a-ok by me!

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

Yep. DH will still be recovering, so we're keeping things low-key.

Probably take-out for dinner and a couple friends may come over.

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

Yup... can't exactly find a sitter for New Year's, so at 5pm we're heading out for a vegetarian pot-luck kids friendly get together with friends, and then heading home, putting the munchkin to bed, and celebrating at home

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

NYE is also my birthday (yay me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon).. but the past few years since we've been married, we haven't really done much. We always enjoyed going out to an early dinner or ordering in.. and just spending some quiet /quality time together..

Now with the baby, we are def. staying home and will probably be asleep by 10pm knowing us Chat Icon

(I've never really been into the whole NYE "hoopla" anyhow.. baby or not Chat Icon)

Absolutely!!! I can not stand going out on New Year's Eve. Except for two good ones, anytime I went out for NYE are usually the worst nights put for me.

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

I ALWAYS stay home on New Years eve. I usually go by my moms house but this year my parents and my brother and his wife are coming over since this is our first holiday in our condo

Re: Anyone just staying home for New Years?

We're staying home, though I wanted to go out. None of our friends wanted to do anything.

I bought a Chateaubriand (tenderloin) at Fairway so I am going to make that and then I have lots of appetizers left from our holiday party so we are going to munch on those and have drinks!
