anyone know any slp's that would be available to do feeding therapy in queens? (EI)
i know this is a long shot but i'm desperate. my sons slp is useless and he has made zero progress in 6 months. all she does is feed him (umm, that's what i do too) she doesn't do any exercises with him and he still vomits up to 4 x a day and each meal is a 1 hour battle. 
i'm calling my caseworker on monday but they had to find my current slp from another agency b/c there aren't many feeding specialists aparently  and i have no faith that they will find someone good.

I'm sorry I can't help, but have you had his tonsils looked at? The child of a friend of mine had major gagging issues, and it turns out her tonsils were enlarged. After they were removed, 100% improvement.

I'm sorry I can't help, but have you had his tonsils looked at? The child of a friend of mine had major gagging issues, and it turns out her tonsils were enlarged. After they were removed, 100% improvement.
hmm, interesting. i'll ask his dr. to check, thanks! but since he has sensory issues i'm pretty sure that is the major problem.
he also has low oral muscle tone, can't move his tongue properly, doesn't really chew, etc.

Depending on where you are I can ask my friend if she is taking on any more cases. She does Whitestone, Flushing, Bayside etc. FM me if you would like!

there is a agency by St. john's University (forgot the name) on union turnpike that has slps that do feeding therapy too

I'm an SLP and have done a lot of feeding therapy. Everyone I know is in Nassau/Suffolk, but you may find a good therapist through St. Mary's (agency as well as the children's hospital).

I hear great things about St. Marys and I know they are further west- toward queens. Good Luck! My DD has tons of feeding issues due to her bad reflux at 21 months old.

St Mary's has a great program for feeding and speech issues.

I know it's in NYC but did you ever call that number I gave you? My friend swore this woman worked wonders!!
