Re: Anyone know anything about Court Reporting?
i started to take this a few years ago in plainview, but then i ended up going to grad school. I did about a year. I believe you can work part time, my cousin is currently working in this field she work for an agency and they send her to different locations. not sure of the salary but i know there are 1 or 2 schools on long island.

Re: Anyone know anything about Court Reporting?
I am a freelance court reporter: I went to school in Valley Stream, across from Green Acres Mall and took a year off, and continued in the school in the city, called NYCI (NY Career Institute). If you're outeast then your best bet would be LIBI in Commack. You need to dedicate your time in practicing your speed after theory, as school and the field is demanding. But once you graduate and start to work, you will not regret it -- if it's for you and you'll learn that while you're at school. But absolutely, you can work part-time. I work Tues-Fri...I have no kids, and I'm not even married yet, but I have another job at nights which I've been at for awhile so I take off Mondays. If you have kids, you can choose two days a week or five days a week, a.m. or p.m. BUT......the thing that sucks is that you do 80% of your work at home (no joke). You need to edit your depositions at home to create a clean transcript so that's one thing to think about. And honestly, I've been out twice with friends this summer bc I've been so endulged with work. PM me if you would like to know anything else
