anyone know anything about foreclosures?
FIL suggested it to us, since it seems we may NEVER be able to afford a house, lol. i don't know much about it though. anyone that can offer me some knowledge? TIA

I know there's some sort of a list you can get put onto and they'll alert you to foreclosures...DH's boss does this. I have no idea how to go about doing it and I believe there is a fee involved. If you want, FM me and I'll have DH talk to his boss about it.

you're right - the lists do come with fees. And the problem with the lists, is that by the time they are published, the property has already been swept up.
I have no suggestions - it's such a competitive market on LI....especially where foreclosures are concerned. I bought a foreclosure 6 years ago (one of the last true bargains  before the market went wild) - but I simply stumbled on it by accident.
