Anyone Know Baby Boys NOT Named Aiden?
What's with the name Aiden?
Why has it become so popular all of a sudden?
My SIL has a 3 yo. named Aiden and I feel like since then it's become so popular!

Nope.
Every single little boy I know is named Aiden.
In fact, my sons name is reallly Aiden, I just call him Logan.

is it really that popular? i don't know any Aidens and i work in a 50 bed NICU.. the last Aiden i remember was 3 years ago and it was maybe one or two of them!

I have an almost 9 year old son named Aidan. Before we named him, I had never heard the name, my husband had always liked the name though.
Now, I hear the name very often!

Aidan was my favorite baby name when I was a kid...I'm talking like 12 years old. Nobody had even heard of this name, but then I think around 2001 there were 4 teachers at my school who named their sons Aidan! A friend has an Aidan, a mom in my playgroup has an Aidan, my pregnant cousin will use Aidan if she has a boy. DH didn't like it anyway, so it was never an issue for us.

Personally I don't know any Aiden's - so you can imagine my confusion when people insist on spelling my son Aidan's name with an E 
He is the only Aidan in his class and playgroups.

you know, when I started telling people his name they all said this. I was like,  I didn't have HBO and didn't watch the show apparently there was an Aidan on the show. I liked the name for years, when it was unique - no clue what happened though.

When my sister named my nephew Aidan 7 years ago- it was NOT a popular name at all. I was like  when she told us. Then SATC had the Aidan character (nephew was maybe 2 at the time) and the world EXPLODED with Aidans.
Needless to say, my sister was P!SSED when that character was introduced.
Similar thing happend with the name Phoebe for me. I always loved it.... but oh well.

My son is 5 and Aiden (Aidan) was popular then too. Not sure about before that but it is a nice name. I don't personally know any but my friend's son was Aiden for a day until they changed his name to Anthony. There haven't been any in my kids' classes either though

It's strange, I know how popular it is but the only Aiden I know of is the younger brother of one of DS's classmates. Not a single other one.

I named my son 7 1/2 years ago... The only other time I heard it was Aidan Quinn... and St. Aidan...
THEN... SATC came out with the character and pOoF Aidan's EVERYWHERE...
so much for having a unique name no ones ever really heard of...
funny thing is, i WORKED on post for that show when I was pregnant. I should have sabotaged the whole thing

I have seen the name a lot more frequently, maybe partly b/c of SATC but it was around before then.

Yes, Aidan has become quite popular. I have an older cousin named Aidan. Then as Caroline said there is always the hottie Aidan Quinn. And of course -DonnMarie-'s Aidan is my nephew (well not by blood ) & I know about 3-4 others.
