Re: Anyone know current air travel rules??
we just got back yesterday and i called jetblue before we left to find out what was and was not allowed 1- no liquids over three ounces in carry on and they have to be in plastic ziploc bags 2- toothpaste and lotion count as liquids - they threw out my toothpaste, face lotion and noxzema 3- all lip glosses had to be a ziploc bag (they only had us do this on the way home) 4- in your checked luggage everything has to be in plastic bags - we did not check anything but my parents did
good luck - im sure there are more rules - have a safe trip

I just got back from my trip today and I agree with this. They threw out my 1/2 oz lip gloss because it wasnt in a ziplock bag What they did diff in JFK than in San Juan was that when you are approaching security in JFK they ask you to go to this table and show all liquids you have and they confiscate them if they are not in bags and/or regulation (less than 3 oz). Make sure you show everythng you have, because if you get up there and they find stuff that you didnt tell them about they make a big deal about it.

Re: Anyone know current air travel rules??
just got back
all liquids, creams, pastes, lotions under 3 oz can be taken on plane if its in a gallon size clear ziploc baggie
i had lipglosses and they didnt seem to mind.. I was allowed to carry on..
i checkedd in my luggage- perfume, toothpaste, anything over 3 oz.....
no drinks can be brought.. you must buy them after you past security- in the terminal area!!!

Re: Anyone know current air travel rules??
so-- is it easier just to check everything?
I am travelling for business so it totally blows and don't want to have to check anything, but I don't want them throwing anything out.

I would still recommend to the OP, if this lip gloss is something you really dont want them to take, then put it in checked luggage. The lip gloss that they took from me on the way back to JFK, they saw in my bag when I was leaving JFK and had no problem with it then. These screeners are inconsistant, and if you really dont want to lose something, just pack it.
