Anyone know of any LEGIT work at home jobs...NOT direct sales PLEASE
Anyone??? And don't tell me how avon, tupperware, pampered chef changed your life ....I am talking about a work at home company....thanks

I used to write client service plans F/T for my last job (and still work with them on a contract basis) and the work can be done from anywhere. However, to be honest, I have to leave my home to really get the work done because they are extremely extensive and if I am interrupted by DS/DH, it is hard to focus and get back into the work.
It's also the type of writing that is hard to focus on at night after everyone is asleep.
I still go into the office for a few hours each week to get stuff done.
It also involves meeting with clients for an initial visit to do an intake.
Since I work F/T during the day, families are often flexible to do this during the evenings or on the weekend.
Unless you watch kids at your house, I don't know if there any real legit "work at home" types of jobs and I too could never get involved in direct sales. All my family/small circle of friends would hate me.

My mom works from home doing medical transcription from home. She's been working from home for years. She had to take a course. It's a changing industry though because a lot of doctors are doing voice recognition now.

Also as a suggestion, knowing your background from past posts, I would check out Teach for America or The New Teacher Project. They have opportunities to work remotely. Also higheredjobs.com has some online universities that list positions for various things.

A lot of companies have viirtual workforces now, you just need to do some research. The question becomes are you looking for a work from home so you can avoid childcare costs? I work from home full-time, but I still have to have a babysitter because I have set conference calls, places to go to during the day.

This. When I did my work F/T I had too many calls and clients to see. When I had conference calls with my boss each week, he'd expect my full attention. There were a few occasions he made comments about hearing things in the background, even though I did have the privilege to "work from home".
Also you need to be mindful about stupid little things such as printing, faxing and scanning.
I go through about one tree worth of paper for one plan I am writing, so it makes so much more sense to go into the office for this vs. my pocket.
I also don't want clients to have my home or F/T employer info which is another reason I need to go into the office---to collect mail and such.
I also just overall work much better in the structure of an office environment. When I'm home, even if DH/DS are not around, it's too easy to come onto LIF and do other time-sucking things when I should be focusing on my work.

A friend of mine worked for an insurance agency doing assessments after a car accident. Some field work by going to the home or office of the person in the accident to look at the damage. Required some training, but she was working from home.

I was looking for a work at home job for a while myself and came across this website:
