Anyone know (re hcg level)
How it usually takes for it to go down after a miscarriage? I want to make sure my level has gone down so I bought some Dollar Tree pg tests - I miscarriaged (completely) on 3/27 and the test still gives me a BFP That's hard to see.
Thanks!

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
your Dr should be checking your levels weekly to make sure they continue to go down.
Sorry for your loss.

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
Thanks - I spoke to the doctor yesterday and she said there's no need to have a follow-up - that all they would do is ask how I'm feeling.
Anyone know what happens if you get pregnant while your levels are still up? Is it even possible to get pregnant while your levels are up?

I was only measuring at 6w4d, but I didn't miscarry naturally until 9w

Im not an expert in this area - but I really think they need to be less than 5 to start trying to get pg again. If you are still getting a BFP, they must be at least 25 or so (depending on what test you are using).

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
I think so too - I "think", but am not sure, if their still high, I won't ovulate (so it's not lk it could happen accidentally).

No. You could ovulate as soon as your levels get below 5 though before an AF

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
So right now I guess I should keep taking HPT to monitor, and if they keep coming up positive, I'll ask my MD for bloodwork. I never thought I'd be so disappointed to see a BFP

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
I didn't have a D&C - I miscarried naturally. One MD said to wait until I get a natural AF, the other said wait 2 cycles. If I had the D&C, I would def. wait the 2-3 cycles. They recommend this so your uterine lining has a chance to build up.

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
I had to have follow up blood draws. It took 8 weeks to get below 5 but I got AF when my number was around 17.

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
If the date of my miscarriage is used as CD1, then I'm about CD14 now and would normally be ovulating, or about to.
I have been having watery/EWCM the past few days. But I'm def. not approaching ovulation, am I?
How confusing the female body is!!

I don't think yu can ovulate if your levels are still high enough to get a BFP.

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
Thanks all. I am going for bloodwork in the next couple of days to see what my hcg level is (I got a BFP again this morning). How much time should I wait in between tests to determine if my level is going down?

They should do it like they do pg beta tests=48-72 hours in between tests.
I hope you get some answers

Re: Anyone know (re hcg level)
For me it took about 8 weeks and as others posted the Dr. needed to see my levels get to 5 or lower.
