Anyone leave Dr. Kofinas office terrified?
I went to see Dr Kofinas today for the first time. and I left terrified!!!
first he said there is damage to both placentas. then he measured my cervix and it was a little short (33.5 and he wants it at least 35). He wants me to come back in a week to watch it.
In one breath he was like its no big deal and then the other he was super serious and concerned! I am hoping this isn't this start of scary things to come? Anyone have a similar experience???

Re: Anyone leave Dr. Kofinas office terrified?
I did. The first time i went i was petrified when i left the office. Not for the same reason. I had gotten all this paper work on preterm labor and what to watch out for and the tings he told me. I can;t even remember what he told me. DH remembers it all. I just remember sitting there with my mouth open. I think he was giving worst case scenarios but it was scary. he is a great Dr. though. And if you feel anything out of the ordinary, you call the office and someone will get back to you right away. Now i just keep asking questions when i go and i feel much better. Not as scared anymore.

Re: Anyone leave Dr. Kofinas office terrified?
I left my first appt. terrified. He was in a bad mood I guess b/c their phone systems were down and then he in not a warm manner was telling me I also had damage to my placentas and going on and on how baby A was deteriorating. He then started me on Lovenox shots 2x a day and sent me for a ton of bloodwork. When my husband and I left, I was a mess. I then called my OB (Dr. Pillitteri) and he told me I guess I should have warned you that Dr. K can be intense. I was having cramping and had to return to Dr. Kofinas a few days later and my husband swore if he was not friendly and rude again he was going to say something. When we got there, he happened to be so different and apologized for his mood the last time. He was angry b/c his phone system and computers were down. He then explained better what was going on. From that point on we loved him!!

Re: Anyone leave Dr. Kofinas office terrified?
Thanks everyone! I can just tell he is very intense and cautious because he knows all the bad stuff that can happen.
When the nurse asked me if he put me on bedrest almost freaked! I'm only 10 weeks that would be insane...but he said no just come back in a week. I hope it is better next time and that I can make it far along without going on bedrest...that would be financially tough!
thanks again for calming me down!
