Anyone lift/move their house to pour a new foundation?
We just did a home inspection on the house we've lived in for 7+ years and it turns out our house is sinking. (Don't even ask me why the original inspector didn't find this! )
The engineers are recommending that we lift the entire house a minimum of 16", pour a new foundation, and then set the house back down.
We are going to start to call contractors and we know that it can be done, but phew -- this is overwhelming!
Has anyone done this before? Any recommendations for home-movers/lifters?
TIA!

My friend who lived near a beach had the same issue. Her DH was a contractor on the side and did it himself with some friends. I don't know the details but I saw it done!

I moved my entire house a long time ago and put it on a new foundation. You might contact a house mover. They could lift it up while the work was being done. I've seen houses lifted and bulldozers going underneath.
