and then try to get it lower?

We did, we were using a broker though. We locked in at 6% at one bank and he was able to lock us in elsewhere after the fact at a lower rate.

I've been trying unsuccessfully for two weeks to get the points lowered b/c of misinformation and mishandling of my mortgage application to absolutely no avail.
If I wasn't supposed to close the day after tomorrow I would go to another bank.

I am going to be locking into a rate on Saturday and she said if the rates drop we would be able to get the lower rate.
