Anyone lose their varicella immunity?
I am in the process of TTC and I just found out I lost my varicella immunity. I had the disease as a kid, not just mildly. I had immunity a few years ago I know from blood tests results. Now it's gone. Has this ever happened to anyone you know? It's upsetting me that I have to get a vaccination and I wonder why is it gone???

I found out I had lost my immunity (never had chicken pox) when I gave birth to my first ds. They gave me the vaccine in the hospital and it was no big deal.

This happened to me. I also found out when TTC. The only issue is they tell you to wait 3 months to TTC after you get it done to make sure it's out of your system.

This happened to me as well. I found out I wasn't immune (never had chicken pox, just vaccine). I never ended up getting the vaccine and now I'm pregnant again. Just stay away from anyone is you know they have shingles!

CDC has updated this to only a 1 month wait now.

This happened to me with the MMR. I am immune to Measles and Mumps still, but not Rubella.. and I only had the vaccine when I started grad school 6 years ago. But I was already pregnant when I found out- so now there's nothing I can do about it.

I did! I found out before TTC DD and I didn't want take the shot then because we were ready to TTC. I didn't get the shot after I delivered because DD's pediatrician didn't want me to take it with a newborn.
I also wanted to add that some people will not show immunity no matter how many shots they get for certain diseases. My BIL was traveling for work and had to take the Hep B shot three times and still showed up as negative. I don't think it means he does not have immunity.
