ANyone on Bedrest with a toddler/Other child?
So things have gone south in the last week or two...I can basically barely walk at all right now ...the pain is so severe and pressure on my cervix is so bad...
I'm having a hard time with this. I feel so guilty for how bored my son is and how much he wants to go outside and play and out to the stores etc. We are/were VERY active and he is just not used to this and it breaks my heart. He is adapting best he can, and his dad, in laws, etc take him outside when they are around....but still....
And I also am having a hard time keeping him occupied at home. He plays alone, with me etc great but its repetative and I see him getting bored faster...
Even meal time is a hassle b/c he has hit the terrible two's where he wants 30 choices and changes his mind every 5 minutes and I dont have the energy for a lot of it.
When I was PG with him and on bedrest it was easy, I could sleep, read, had something to look forward to at the end of it all ...right now Its just so hard.
Looking for stories or advice etc from those who have done this...
TIA!!

How strict is the bedrest? Do you have a fenced yard that you can just let him run around while you sit in a lounge chair or something?
I'm sorry - it must be torture!! The girls will be here before you know it!

This is one of my fears
Is there anyway that you could enroll him in part time day care until the babies come to keep him a little busy?

I was going to suggest the same thing or hire someone to come in and help. I can't imagine how you could even really do bedrest with a toddler. They don't let you sit still for a minute.

No fenced yard
Its not strict at all, its just that I cannot physically do much, so we are limited...today wasnt so bad, my DH gets home soon from work but I am so unsure how to keep this up for anothe rpossible 6 weeks.
But I figure others MUST have done this right? And survived? LOL

Re: ANyone on Bedrest with a toddler/Other child?
I am in the same boat as you. While I am not on bed rest this PG, I was with DS so I really feel for you. I am just absolutely exhausted at this point. I have a month left (29 days) and every day is getting harder and harder. DS is going to start "pre-school" for 1/2 days for 2 days a week just so I can give him some interaction with children and I can get in a nap. Is there a way you could do something like that for your DS too?

He is in school one day a week right now, and am having a hard time just getting him there for that....
You hang in there too

Re: ANyone on Bedrest with a toddler/Other child?
I wound up on hospital bedrest for a month. The hospital was 1 hour away from where we lived AND children weren't allowed to visit b/c of the swine flu outbreak. Eventually they let Alex visit me once a week, but that's it, I saw my 3 year old daughter 4 times in a month. Desperate times call for desperate measures, you do what you have to do. It was absolutely horrible while I was going through it but I survived, as did she. Now I am pretty much homebound w/ a stir-crazy 3 year old and a preemie. It's exhausting & boring (make sense?). When the baby sleeps we go in the backyard, I sit in the sun or relax in the gazebo & read a magazine & she plays in the sand & goes in the kiddie pool. We walk down to the park (not an option for you though). Get crafty "busy" things for him to do, if a paid sitter isn't an option call on a friend with kids so he can have a playdate over their house. Hang in there, I feel for you.
