Anyone on Lupron, injectables and IUI?

This is going to be next cycle's protocol and I'm a little freaked out about it... Dr B said it shuts down the communication between the pituitary gland and the ovaries That way the body doesn't produce FSH naturally but only gets it through the injectables. Are there any side effects I'm really nervous about all this "shutting down my system" business....but at the same time I told him I wanted to be aggressive about it.... Do you ladies have any experience with this medication? Should I be so freaked out over it?

I'm going to be on Lupron my next cycle... I'm in ivf though.... last ivf cycle i was on ganerilex and yeah it does shut down your cycle so you dont ovulate till they want you to. Its a way of getting the timing best for fertility.. this way you dont ovulate till your eggs are at their best point.
