one tip.... chocolate chips have stabilizers in them which affect the taste of the chocolate, so get your favorite bar chocolate

We used it for thanksgiving. I got the melting discs and they tasted great. If you use choc. chips you have to add oil to make it flow not clump!

I did this as well- I use a 40% off coupon from either ac moore or michaels and buy one of their bigger bags (they sell the fountains there also). They worked out great and were a huge hit!! I melted the chocolate in a pan on the stove first (double boiler method) and then poured it in to ensure that it didn't get stuck in the machine (first time using it then and was nervous)

I buy the five pound bag of chocolate from Kerrie's Candies in Coram, on 112. It is awesome! You have to add a few table spoons of oil to it to thin it out a little bit, you have to do that with any chocolate though.

I've tried my favourite chocolate (Lindt extra creamy) and chocolate chips. They tasted the same to me and you have to add oil for the chocolate fountain so I wouldn't want to add that to expensive chocolate.
Have fun! I have had many chocolate parties and they are so much fun!
