Anyone pass the 1-hour and fail the 3-hour glucose test?
Most people that passed the 1-hour probably never had to take the 3-hour but wanted to see if anyone was in that situation.
DS is measuring 2 weeks ahead and although my 1-hour was fine my doc wants me to sit for the 3-hour to be rule that out...makes sense. Just wanted to see if anyone else has been through this.

I haven't been through this but wanted to say Good luck! I took my 1 hour last week and I go to the Doc on Monday to find out the results.

I haven't but wanted to wish you good luck. There is a GD thread over on pregnancy perhaps someone wrote about it there?

Re: Anyone pass the 1-hour and fail the 3-hour glucose test?
I went through every GD test known to mankind with my baby brontosaurus. There is even another test they may give you after the 3 hour, just to be safe. I can't remember what that one was called, but it was another blood test, but I don't think there was a drink with that one.
I ended up passing my first 1 hour, then was sent for another 1 hour which I was borderline, passing my 3 hour, passing each subsequent one hour every week, then being borderline with the test I can't remember the name of. (But that test I was getting angry and I went in drinking a slurpee. The lab girl said 'Kelly, you know these results will be through the roof with that big slurpee.' Yet, I was borderline.)
So if they think you are carrying a large baby, you have a shot at being sent for more than just your 1 and 3 hours.

I don't know anyone who passed a 1 hour & failed a 3 hour.
I failed the 1 hour, passed the 3 hour. I think if you are borderline, they double check the numbers so they can manage possible GD issues.

THANK YOU SO MUCH KELLY!!!!! Seriously this was great info! My doctor is pretty sure I will pass the 3-hour since my number was so good on the 1-hour but since he is measuring 2 weeks ahead with his belly in the 90th percentile for the normal range she just wants to be sure. I *think* that she will leave it alone if these results are fine and if I fail then I do the GD diet but if I am borderline she said I should just modify and she'll have someone help me with that.

Ang, I failed the 1 hour, and borderline passed the 3 hour. My dr wasn't happy with the borderline pass, and sent me to the lab to re-take the 3 hour---which i failed. I was sent to a GD nutritionist who put me on a diet for the rest of my pregnancy (this was about 34 weeks)

Re: Anyone pass the 1-hour and fail the 3-hour glucose test?
I did I passed the 1h one with flying colors but took the 3h because I was testing at home and my fasting numbers were high.....
I failed the 3h one by only one number (you fail with 2 out of 4) my fasting one was the problem and I was put on medication..all other numbers were great......
just FYI....DD was also measuring ahead and was estimated to be 8.5lbs at 38.5 weeks.....she was 7.2 when she was born (10 days early)...go figure......

I borderline failed the 1hr and then passed the 3hr with flying colors. However at 32w, DS was measuring SIX weeks head. Needless to say they had me going for the 3hr three other times because they were convinced I had GD. I passed with no problem each time and apparently just make big babies (DS was 9lb 10oz at birth). Good luck!!
