anyone pass the 1 hour, but fail the 3 hour?
They gave me my one hour very early on (at about 9 weeks) because they are convinced i went undiagnosed with GD with my DS...(i gained 65lbs, and he was over 10lbs at birth, also some other symptoms)
I have since then lost a tremendous amount of weight, and dont think its a problem anymore... i passed my 1 hour with flying colors, i guess im wondering if everyone takes a 3 hour too, or if they JUST make you take 2 of the tests if you look borderline?
TIA!!

Re: anyone pass the 1 hour, but fail the 3 hour?
I don't think people are generally given a 3 hour without first failing the 1h first....
I know if a person has some other overt GD symptom (ex. sugar in urine), they may bypass the 1 hour and go straight to the 3 hour.
In your case, it's unusual to get tested so early.... since GD gets worse as the placenta grows, you likely will be tested again later on.... I suspect they'll either give you another 1 hour, or perhaps go directly to the 3h, depending upon the situation....
does that make sense

Since you had the 1 hour so early its likely you will have at least that again even tho you passed it earlier. As the pp said its an issue with the growing placenta. I was also tested very early and was fine but just failed at 28 wks and had to do the 3hr today. Hope I passed!

At my docs office, if you pass the 1 hour you are home free... no 3 hour test.

I passed my 1 hour and they didn't ask me to do any further testing.

Re: anyone pass the 1 hour, but fail the 3 hour?
I'm 99% sure they are going to have to test you again. I had to take the 3 hour test in May (around 14 weeks) because of a fainting spell. My results were fine but I just took the one hour test a few weeks ago (at 26 weeks) because it was very possible that GD could have developed in that time.
Sorry!!

if you took the test before 24 weeks, I think you will have to take it again. My office wanted me to take it between 24 and 28 weeks. The one test I took was at 25 weeks, 2 days.

I am going for my 1 hr test at 28 weeks and if that's fine, I dont need to do the 3 hr test.
