Re: Anyone planning to go to the Alure Pep Rally?
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Coming to Long Island Alure Home Improvements to host Pep Rally for Extreme Makeover Volunteers at Suffolk County Sports Park (formerly CitiBank Park), Islip NY EAST MEADOW, NY June 8th, 2010 — ABC’s Emmy-winning hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has selected another Long Island family to feature on its award winning show that helps change the lives of families and inspire remarkable community support. Each week, the show renovates the entire home of a deserving family on national TV, traveling across the country. Alure Home Improvements of East Meadow N.Y., with a long standing reputation in the industry as a leading and premier remodeler, and also with a history as a philanthropic contributor to the community, has become the show’s go to remodeler for makeover projects in the metro area. This will be Alure’s eighth project for the inspiring show. While Alure is the main builder and a major contributor, the makeovers rely on numerous volunteers and community support, and all of Long Island is invited to join this amazing experience. Alure will host a pep rally on Monday, June 14th at Suffolk County Sports Park, home of the Long Island Ducks (formerly Citibank Park) to kick off the volunteer effort necessary to help accomplish this amazing feat for a deserving family. While the exact town and family details won’t be released until after the door knock on June 21st, volunteers will now have a week before the knock to sign up and get involved. The pep rally will be hosted by Sal Ferro, President & CEO of Alure Home Improvements, and he’ll be joined by several members of the production team from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, who will be present to talk about the show and how people can help. John Hampson of Nine Days will make a special appearance and perform their top ten hit, “Absolutely (Story of a Girl).” Alure Home Improvements is inviting volunteers from the community interested in providing their time, support and/or resources to help ensure the success of this life-altering project. Interested individuals or companies can find more information on how to volunteer time and/or resources at www.alure.com. Following the pep rally, Alure will start to sign up volunteers for the project, which will start a week later. Alure will also coordinate a food drive for the INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) who will collect canned or packaged food donations at the makeover site all week long. “We are thrilled that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has selected a Long Island family for their next makeover and we are excited to not only make a difference in the lives of a deserving family, but to also play a part in inspiring the Long Island community to come together for a great cause.” Sal Ferro Ty Pennington along with rest of the show’s design team, will notify the selected family by showing up at the Suffolk County family’s residence on Monday, June 21st...
