Anyone remodel a small kitchen on a budget?

I am kind of looking for ballpark estimates and any recommendations?

Not sure of a kitchen designer would be too $$$ or if I should go with a general contractor.

Someone in DH's family spent $50,000 and I am not looking for that at all!

I don't have an exact $$ because it was bundled with work for a whole 2 bed/2bath condo.

Your price really depends on your materials, we went with cheaper cabinets, but spent a bit more on backsplash bc it was a smaller area. We have black appliances instead of stainless.

Also this is not our forever home, we just needed to upgrade from those "builder cabinets"

And a big cost is labor, especially demo work. You may get a better price if you do some of that yourself.

I have no recommendations as our contractor moved out of state.

8 years ago when we bought our house we did a shoestring budget kitchen. We completely gutted everything, even took down a wall, replaced everything except the appliances for $5000. We all of the work ourselves but probably would have paid another $5000-7000 for labor. I can't post pics from my iPad but if you search LIF I have posted them any times over the years. I don't have a lot of bells and whistles in my kitchen but 8 years later it still looks like day one and I entertain constantly.

I was hoping to do it for around $15,000? I want to keep the floor and most of the appliances.
