Anyone see Spiderman on Broadway? How are the reviews?

I was thinking of getting tickets but haven't heard anything.

From all the reviews I've read it sounds pretty bad. I don't know anyone who's seen it though.

The reviews have been terrible! The show claims that it's unfair that they were reviewed so early, but the fact that the opening has been pushed back so much doesn't bode well. Plus, I think tickets are outrageously expensive. I'd skip it.

Ouch........ I'm glad I posted this before surprising my DH with tickets He really liked the movies, so I thought the show would be a fun surprise.. apparently not!

I did.... I love Spiderman, LOVE LOVE LOVE Broadway, am a huge fan of Bono, and I think it was terrible.

It was a spectacle, not a show. The music is lousy, the story is lacking, the set is lame with the exception of the flying. And if you're lucky enough to get to a performance with no flying issues, you should probably play lotto.

I saw it in December and thought it was a blast!

The music was great, all of the flying sequences worked and were so much fun to watch and I liked the comic book feel of the sets and costumes.

The story was messy and bizarre, especially the second act.

If you're willing to keep an open mind and are remotely interested in seeing it, better go soon!

I saw it in December too...thought the sets and the aerial stunts were amazing...(luckily no one got hurt while I was there!).

The story was ehh...(I actually dozed off in the second act) and even the music wasn't much to write home about and I love U2. The ending was probably the most boring Broadway show ending ever, but I did hear they are supposed to redo it. Usually a Broadway ending is all glitz and loud and big, and this just ended.

I would wait to see what they do to change it.

I want to see it, just due to the trainwreck factor. But it's too expensive for me to just throwaway the money.

My friend saw it and liked it. He said you have to take it at face value - he spectacle. He had lots of good things to say about the spider lady ??? He said the plot was kinda confusing and not that good but it sure looked good!
