Anyone start with barley cereal instead of rice cereal?
DD is 6 mo. old and due to constipation issues he suggested I start on barley cereal.
Anyone used it? How much did you give? How many times a day?

Not barley but oatmeal. Our ped also recommended due to constipation issues. We had no issues whatsoever. ]
I don't remember how often. At first we did just one feeding a day for a week or two to make sure she had no adverse reactions. After that I kept mixing in with her foods a few times a day I think.

We did bc ds has constipation issues,ped said skip rice
We do it once a day hour and a half after first bottle of the day
2 oz with formula,I make it more liquidy
Did that for a week. Then we added fruit wirh it
They like it so much better with fruit lol
No bananas ,ped said skip those too

We also started (and have stuck with) barley cereal because of constipation issues. I started with a teaspoon the first week and we worked our way up to 2 tablespoons 2x a day. I also mix fruit in it, and where I know banana is constipating, he loves it. So I usually do half banana and half apple in the cereal and he hasn't had issues having a BM (goes a couple of times a day now. Never thought I'd be so happy for poop!).

We started with oatmeal due to constipation issues as well. I did 1tbsp with 3tbsps formula once a day and then followed DS' cues to add more/make it thicker.
I started fruits 3 days later since I figured that would also help with the constipation.
