Anyone stay at Royal Atlantic in Montauk?
We are going away with my parents this summer and need something that suits both of us.
My family can stay at a moderate priced middle of the road hotel.
My parents are a little more upscale. While they understand we can't afford Montauk Yacht Club will they like Royal Atlantic?
Reviews appreciated. Thx.

I wouldn't exactly say the Royal Atlantic is upscale although they did do renovations to the ocean front resort. Even so, it isn't on par with Montauk Yacht Club. Unless you book one of the rooms that was redone within the last couple of years, I think your parents will be disappointed. Keep in mind, most of the hotels/motels out there are not updated at all.

ITA with Morgan. Most places, while clean, nice and family friendly are not what most would consider "upscale"

I think they will be very happy if they stay at the ocean front resort. Just ask for the recently renovated rooms.

I stayed there last year in one of the renovated rooms and was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't "upscale" but it was nicer and cleaner than the other hotels I've stayed at in Montauk. I stayed in a corner room which was nice because it had great ocean views and the balcony was more private. They also offered free breakfast in their restaurant which was great. Image Attachment(s):

We stay there every summer. Like PP said..ask for a newly renovated room..they are much nicer than the old ones. It is definitely clean and the location is great.

We stay at Royal Atlantic every year. We stay in the townhouse though and it's VERY nice!!!! There are 2 floors, 2 1/2 bath, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, 2 balconies, fireplace. Right on the beach. Always clean and I skeeve dirt and clutter.

I was going to suggest the same thing. We've stayed in the regular Royal Atlantic hotel but we went to a 40th b'day party at the townhouse section and it was really nice.
