There aren't a lot of "townhouses" out there. There are motels. You could look at Hartman's, or Montauk Manor. Or look into renting a house.
But there are a lot of family type motels on teh beach too.
My family has a house out there since I was four, it is my favorite place in the world. I worked at the golf course for 5 years

ej's mom- no problem i didnt know how much it was. saw your suggestion and called them up. they have no availablity for the weekend we want so it doesnt matter how much it cost. the place looks beautiful on their website too.

I know they were expensive but did not realized it was 2K for 2 nights. That's REALLY expensive. They increased their prices.
Hope you can find something more "reasonable".

Re: montauk - places to stay condo villa type places- need reccomendations
found one place waiting on my neighbor to confirm. we want to do 2 family's so that my daughter and her daughter can be together. last vacation before the new baby comes along. my brother used to work at gurneys over 5 years ago and said they were expensive but i think 2k is overpriced imho.

Re: montauk - places to stay condo villa type places- need reccomendations
My husband and I have stayed at the Beachcomber during the fishing tournament the last 3 years. The price is good, there's a balcony with a water view and the beach is right across the street. It's 2 seconds out of town and they're suite's with a kitchen and living room. We stayed with the baby and lots of other people had babies. I believe the pool is heated and they have a tennis court if the weather's OK. There might have been a game room too, not sure.
ETA they have a website too but my computer is too slow to bring it up right now.

The Beachcomber is tiny, but nice.
I would recommend Lenharts, they are cottages a block from the beach. HTH!
(I couldn't remember the name last night!)

Try looking at Sepp's cottages. It's about one block from the beach at Ditch Plains and I think they are fully equiped with kitchens.
