Anyone take antibiotics while pregnant?
I've had a terrible sinus infection since Friday, and am feeling so incredibly sick. I'm trying to alleviate symptoms with basic robutussin and tylenol, but it's not working very well. My OB said he'd prescribe an Rx if it doesn't get any better over the next few days, but I'm weary about taking antibiotics so early in my pregnancy. Has anyone taken antibiotics in the first trimester? Or, will a sinus infection eventually go away on it's own? I've never had one and not taken antibiotics before.

Yes I took amoxicillin for a terrible ear infection! I tried to wait it out a few days and it got worse!! Ughhh.

Anyone take antibiotics while pregnant?
I had 2 rounds of abx early during my first pregnancy. I was about 6-8 weeks when I was taking it. She's 16 months and perfect (well to me anyway lol)

Yes I had to be on antibiotics twice for ear infection!

I have had two UTIs this pregnancy. None with my last... so frustrating!
Had to take antibiotics for both.. the risk is too great not to take them unfortunately if you need them!

Anyone take antibiotics while pregnant?
Yes- twice in 1st trimester, for UTIs. Ampicillin for 5 days and then Macrobid for 7 days. I wasn't happy about it either, but a raging infection could potentially cause more damage than an antibiotic.

amoxicillin around 13-14w for a bad cough/cold. I was on it for 10 days I think. it still didn't completely clear up whatever I had and I got sick again a few weeks later. I think the sinus infection was related to the pregnancy because nothing was helping it go away

Thanks for all the input. My symptoms are so bad that I'm not even able to sleep more than 4 hours at this point, so looks like I'll have to suck it up and get on an antibiotic. Unfortunately, my Ob isn't even in today, so now I have to wait until tomorrow. Shoot me!

My last pregnancy I had to take A LOT of antibiotics. I had pink eye twice. I had 3 or 4 sinus infections - on of which was in my first trimester. I was literally sick from 9-18 weeks and on various meds. And I also had a tooth infection around 30 weeks. So I was on lots of meds throughout. DD is 8 weeks and perfectly fine! If you need meds, take it. No point in suffering. And if it is a sinus infection, you'll likely keep getting them until it's out of your system - with an antibiotic.
ETA: Go to your regular dr. Your OB shouldn't be prescribing meds for a sinus infection!
