Anyone take their DC to a ped. GI doc?
Just wondering what to expect. Will they take blood or do anything invasive?

We did and they did zero testing. They just examined her and asked her history. Infact, I found it to be a waste of my time.

Sydney had to go to the hospital when she was 2 weeks old because she stopped breathing. They did tons of tests and determined that she had reflux. They gave us medicine and told us we should follow up in the office every month. All they did at the office visit was weigh her and ask us questions. After the second time of this we stopped going and our regular ped supported that decision. We had enough medicine and refills to continue with that and by 6 months she did not need the medicine anymore.

I had to take my DD to a ped GI for cronic constipation problems. There was an inital examination of the rectum and some blood work but after that it is just a weigh in really. I found some of the advice to be useful, but overall I find working with her regualr ped much more useful.

They didn't take blood or anything, they only tested his poop, I had to bring them a dirty diaper or they would have to "make things happen" and I didn't want that.
