Anyone try melatonin?
Sleep is the worst lately. I have sleep disturbances and if I don't take zquill I am up every hour. I just don't know how healthy it is to take that on an ongoing basis. Was thinking of trying melatonin. Does it work? Anyone have a brand they like?

Re: Anyone try melatonin?
I used to use it all the time. It works. I took 3mg. Just the target brand. They say if you take it for too long it stops working so I'd try it for a month then maybe cycle off for a bit

Anyone try melatonin?
Our DS has been having sleeping issues, sleep-talking, waking himself, calling for mommy or daddy, he is 10 and it has gotten worst after Covid hit. We spoke to our doctor, they said we can give him melatonin but I think it's making it worst if you are truly having sleep issues. It puts him to sleep very quickly, makes him drowsy, but he has more problem/nightmares because he tries to wake up and he can't due to add'l melatonin in his system. So if your sleep disturbance is due to just randomly waking up, it might work, but if you are having night terrors or other factors, it might make it worse. Good luck

Anyone try melatonin?
I have an awful time sleeping through the night, I tried melatonin it really didn't work for me and gave me headaches. I take Advil PM and sometimes Benadryl that combination works really well for me. I'm sure what I am doing is not good for me, but not sleeping is worse.

Re: Anyone try melatonin?
I don't, but my father did when he was going through chemo/radiation and had a lot of trouble sleeping. It definitely helped.
ETA: He'd use that or Tylenol PM since he needed pain management as well.

Yes I have had that! I actually ended up in the emergency room because my heart was beating so fast I guess because I was panicking. That was 2 weeks ago and I have not slept through the night since. I think I'm traumatized now. Last night I took Benadryl, didn't really work. Tonight I took 10mg of melatonin 45 minutes ago and nothing yet.
