Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
I know, it sounds weird but I am one who has lots of freckles. I am Spanish and have olive skin that has a tendency to tan very well. With that...I have freckles all over my face, some on my chest and shoulders...and have produced more and more.
I am not liking them on my face anymore.
I havent even been in the sun for awhile and everyone will ask why Im tan....because of the so many freckles I have..I look dark.
Just curious if anyone has done something to help rid of them. I have a friend who works for plastic surgery..she mentioned a photo something.
ETA: And I know most of them are from the sun, therefore possible sun damage.

I don't have a lot, but my beard covers up some of mine.... hmmm.... that may not be a good solution for you, though....

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
LOL!
I am hispanic too so nice to know I'm not the only one. I know it sounds lame I would never go through the process of removing them I would think that would be too much of a pain.
I use bare essentials on my face it covers them up pretty well. As far as the ones on the body just leave it.

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
I have them on my face & some on my chest & arms. When I was younger, I hated them! But now as I got older, I like them! It gives me a darker looking complextion especially in the winter months!!! Of course, I look like you can play connect the dots in the summer

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
I have them, when I was a kid I hated them and I remember reading Frecklejuice. I tried putting lemon juice on my face to lighten them but they didn't go away.
Now that I'm older they don't bother me anymore, I don't think they're as prominent as they used to be.

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
Go to a dermatologist. I'm sure they have some treatment that would help...maybe chemical peels?

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
I have TONS of freckles (all Irish), and I'd never dream of getting rid of them. I don't even think there is a way to do that... I did, however, think Freckle Juice (the book) was brilliant when I was a kid.
Accept them as part of who you are - beautiful and unique.
I always hated them... then when I got a little older, I learned to love them. They make me unique!

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
Certain companies have pigment lightening creams. If you go to Sephora or a high end cosmetics/skin store, a knowledgeable person should be able to assist you. If I were you, I'd try to speak with an esthetician first.
Brands that carry pigment lightening creams include Decleor and Dermologica.
If it's sun damage, I would highly recommend visiting a dermatologist. My dermatologist has this light that they use to reduce the appearance of sun spots (or "freckles"). Check out Juva Skin. Good luck! It's not hopeless!

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
There are skin lighteners...they are expensive at the dept. stores. I was thinking about trying it but this summer stayed out of the sun and they mostly went away.

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
It's called a photofacial... my dermatologists office does it. It is $200 per session and you need about 3-4 sessions.
How does a PhotoFacial treatment work? Photofacial treatment works by the application of gently-pulsed, intense light (IPL) on the surface of the skin. The heat and energy that the light creates is absorbed by abnormal blood vessels that cause redness as well as by the pigmentation in damaged skin cells. As it absorbs the light and energy, collagen production is stimulated and the skin begins a natural healing process that reduces problems like sun damage, mild scarring, and age spots while it restores a healthy and youthful tone to your skin.
Who is a good candidate for Photofacial treatment? Photofacial is an ideal option for those who want a non-invasive, gentle, and easy way to erase freckles, age spots, redness, sun damage, and the appearance of visible capillaries and mild scarring.

I tried to get rid of the ones on my face as a kid - someone in school told me to rub them off with lemon juice - so I did and I burned my skin off of my nose!!

Re: Anyone try to get rid of their freckles?
I have fair skin and freckles too. They are my cue to get the heck out of the sun. I know when I start seeing freckles reach my fingers, that I've had enough.
I'd never dream of trying to rid myself of them. And I am too concerned about the health of my skin to have any kind of procedure done.
I'm already at a high risk of skin cancer. I just stay out of the sun as much as possible and leave it at that.

I was going to mention Frecklejuice! I dont think there is anything you can do about them aside from asking a derm. Personally, I love them! I dont have them so maybe thats why. When I stay out in the sun too long I get them and I just think I look better overall with them sprinkled over my face. Embrace them!
