Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We bought our living room set about 3 years ago and the cushions sink in so much, the arm of the chair is dented and the gap in between the cushions is growing daily. We bought the goof proof, I'm wondering if anyone had luck using it or if its more trouble than its worth? TIA!

Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
My brother has used it in the past and have had no issues. We are calling tomorrow as we just realized there is a broken beam on one of the couches.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We have it and of course the one time I needed them, they tell me it doesn't cover our spill. DD's hand sanitizer on her schoolbag leaked on the leather couch and ripped the color right out of the leather. I was so mad. They wouldn't bend at all and told me to get it professionally fixed so I didn't void my insurance. Gee thanks.

Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We used it twice, both for our dining room table.
First time was a week after we got the furniture delivered. One chair had a crack in the leg. They came, inspected it, and then a couple of weeks later, they took the chair and brought us a new one.
Second time was 18 months later. We found a piece of the wood on the side of the table was missing. They came, inspected it, determined it would not be fixable. They put the claim in and we were given the cost of the table back to use towards another table since ours was discontinued. They let us keep the table for some reason but took back the chairs and we got a brand new set with the money they gave us in credit.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
I should check if I have it.
When I bought my living room set from them a couple years ago, I didn't plan on keeping it long term so I don't really care that much.
It's actually not in terrific shape, but it still looks okay for now.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We use it for our living room furniture. I had a huge problem with them.
During delivery they put a TINY rip in the arm of my couch. They were supposed to replace it but never did. I called numerous times over the course of 2 years or so. Nothing ever happened. The rip was so tiny, I wasn't too concerned until it got bigger.
SO then I tried to use the Goof Proof and they refused to replace it, saying it was Bob's problem not the Goof Proof company's problem. Meanwhile Bob's was saying it wasn't their problem.
Long story short, I wrote a letter to corporate saying I would never shop there again, and as of the next day they gave me the credit for a new couch.

We used it when one of the supporting pieces of our couch broke after less than a year. The guy they sent was a joke. Didn't know how to use the drill, stripped the screws as he was putting them in ect. I've had my couches less than two years and they are crap, I will never buy from bobs again.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We have a couch from there and will never but anything from Bob's again. When it was delivered, there was a huge crack in the foot of couch which they replaced. After about a year, the cushions started to fall apart and the springs were poking through. You couldn't sit on the couch! They gave me a hard time and we eventually just found someone online who sells cushions that go inside the covers and haven't had an issue since.

we used it for the reclining mechanism on our sofa. they came to fix it once, and when it broke again, we called them up again, and they denied because fixing the same thing more than once is not covered.

Wow I am so glad we only got our dining room table from them and we ended up canceling the couch order and going with Raymour.
You really get what you pay for with them. Except with the Bobopedic. That is the only quality product from them IMO.

We did! Same thing happened with our arm cushion as well. They are actually coming on Saturday to assess it. I can let you know how it goes after that.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
bobs sucks i call it disposable furniture.. I just recently got a "leather" (bonded leather) couch from them- it was like $700.. i mean, really- what do you expect for $700 for a couch?
both times I used goof proof- really wasn't a true fix.

DH bought a couch from Bob's and the wooden beams broke. They came and fixed it, but it broke again soon after. They wound up giving him full credit for the amount he had paid. Haven't had any problems with the new couch in a little over 2 years.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We were looking to buy furniture from here and our friends who have purchased from them said don't! They returned a couch they had problems with and now seeing problems with the new one. I think thei furniture looks great to the eye but the quality is horrendous. I think their goof insurance sounds a little BS to me.

I agree- I passed on it when I bought DD's bedroom furniture 3 years ago because it seemed like things that could happen with a small child wouldn't be covered, which I guess made sense but then it wasn't worth it to me. I bet they make a lot of $$ selling the insurance, though. Last year I ordered a sectional online, thinking I could avoid the sales pitch, but someone called to give me the hard sell.

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
My sister has 2 separate issues that were not covered. I don't remember the details but its seemed like those issues should have been covered. I know one was the broken recliner handle and the other was a spill/stain on the kitchen table that they didn't cover.
I do think the furniture is decent though - esp if you have kids and don't want to spend a lot of money on things that may get ruined anyway. 5 years ago my parents had a house fire, almost their entire house is refurnished in Bobs furniture and they haven't had any problems.

Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
We made a claim once and they didn't cover it. We bought end tables/coffee tables from them that scratch if you put anything on them/touch them etc so we didn't make a claim right away but, once we did it was denied since there was so much damage they said it was multiple occurences. Will never buy from there again.

Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
I think the key is that it has to be a single occurrence incident, like a scratch/tear/break etc. I actually remember now that when we bought them the sales guy said I could take a knife to all of the cushions and it would be covered, as long as it was a single incident. So I'm wondering if they wont cover the saggy/separating cushions since that is technically not a single occurrence. Maybe I'll "accidentally" splash paint over all 3 pieces

Re: Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
The salesman told me the key is to say it JUST happened, and it was an accident. If you wait to report things, it's not covered.
I just bought a sofa from them recently. A couple of days after delivery, I noticed a dent in the arm. They replaced it no problem, and that wasn't under the "goof proof", that was just the standard policy. I can already tell the cushions are not going to last, they have smashed down quite a bit! I have a kitchen table from them that I have had no issues with at all, and I love it for the price.

Anyone use Bobs Goof Proof insurance?
All the insurances are the same when it comes to damage insurance from furniture stores. We've dealt with Sleepy's for our bedframe and Bob's for our TV Unit.
They couldn't repair the TV unit (scratch) and said they would give us store credit to buy a new one, but we could keep the unit. Well, Bob's had nothing we liked so we just let it go.
Sleepy's insurance came out and inspected it, can't fix it, but would cover the crack on the headboard. They no longer carry it and wouldn't give us full credit to buy another one and said we'd have to trade out our unit for the crappier, cheaper one they wanted to replace it with.
In both cases, we decided to just live with it. I do have to call Bob's about our sofa bed, it's wearing oddly on the fabric which supports the bed

Definitely. We had numerous scratches so they knew it wasn't a single occurrence.
