Anyone wake up super early?
I was reading something about how so many people who wake up early on a regular basis are happier, more creative, receive more inspiration and reach more goals overall. It seems the magic hour is 4 am.
I was contemplating trying it out.
I feel like I'm always saying how there's not enough hours in the day.
Does anyone wake up earlier? Do you find it helps?

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
4am is pushing it lol But for me, when I was running in the AM, I would get up at 6:30, go out and be done by 7:30 and I'd get a head start on my day. On those mornings, I'd be done with my daily tasks befor noon
Since I hurt my knee, I haven't gotten outta bed any earlier than 8:30 and I feel like it takes me forever to get moving and there aren't enough hours in the day for me to get everything I want done.
That extra 2 hours in the AM really kept me on track.
I work from home and have a very open work schedule

Anyone wake up super early?
Um I'd rather just sleep 23/24 hours a day being pregnant. Not pregnant I was getting up at 5 for work- that has since changed and I go to work when I feel like it most days. I HATED getting up, however I was happy to be home by 3 and felt I had more time to do things during the day. Also- my house would then have to be perfect temperature I hate getting up in the cold!

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
Idk, I'm a night owl and really need 8 hours or more of sleep time. I can't imagine going to bed at 9:00 pm. Even the nights I have tried to go to bed at 10:00 or 10:30 pm I sleep horrible, I have more dreams, and I wake up at 2:00 or 3:00 am and can't go back to sleep. I agree though that if you get up early you get more things done, but I don't know if I'd be happier lol

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
And I also read that people who get less than 7 hours of sleep a night consistently have more health issues. So unless you can get to sleep by 9 pm this probably isn't a great idea.
Either way...you are cutting into your days hours in order to get proper sleep. I am more productive at night. So I would rather stay up until midnight or later to get stuff done than get up at the ass crack of dawn. I really think it comes down to a personal thing. Some people are morning people and can get more done at 4 am and go to bed early. Some are the opposite and most productive and creative late at night.

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
4am the alarm goes off when I was half marathon training. In the last 4 years I've ran 7 HM. For me, it's really the only time to get my training in. Happier.... I guess, because it really showed myself that I can achieve a goal if I set my mind to it. I like the alone time that the early morning allows.

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
Maybe in the summer because it gets light out early but this time of year, no way. I can barely force myself to get up at 6 as it is. And I'm exhausted. If I were to get up at 4 or even 5, I'd need to be asleep before 10... which is usually never going to happen unless I unexpectedly crash on the couch which isn't quality sleep anyway. It's after 10 now & I just got home from the supermarket & have a bunch of stuff I want to do & I don't plan to go to bed for at least another 1-2 hours.

When I was still teaching I got up at 4:45 to make a 5:55 train.
I hated my life.

Same here! Every time I think about waking up early for whatever reason I laugh at myself and remember who I'm dealing with
I'm much more productive later in the day. I'm up at 6/630 to leave the house by 645/7, and it literally takes my brain a good two hours to wake up

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
I get up at 5:25 for work every day, sometimes at 5 if awake already. The weekends, I'm usually up by 6:30 just because my body is used to it. I do go to bed early, at 9:30.
I feel like I can get so much done earlier in the day. I just hate that now it is so dark in the morning

I follow a similar schedule. Im up for work everyday byn 5:30. Sometimes I wake up at 4:45-5 to do a quick 30 minute workout. This weekend I "slept in" til 6:45 and was like OMG - it's so late! I'm usually asleep by 9/9:30 at the latest. I need 7-8 hours of sleep to function. I'm much more productive in the morning. I get nothing done after dinner.

Anyone wake up super early?
Currently my 6 month old seems to think waking at 4 am is great and the best time to play, so I don't have a choice. But normally I wouldn't want to, or be able to,,wake that early. The one silver lining about waking so early though is I do usually get at least 1 or 2 things done, like folding laundry or wiping down the bathroom while ds is playing in his pack n play (only quiet tasks so I don't wake dh and dd) But then once ds goes back to sleep, I usually go back to sleep to for a little bit, but it's nice to feel like I was a little productive at least while I was up.

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
For almost any theory, I can find another one that directly contradicts it....
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/intelligent-people-tend-to-be-messy-stay-awake-longer-and-swear-more-a7174256.html
... Intelligent people are night owls
Like to stay up late? This also could be a sign for intelligence. Scientific research has linked night owls with higher IQ scores for quite some time now. President Obama, Charles Darwin, Winston Churchill, Keith Richards and Elvis Presley are all famous for nocturnal activities. If you tend to go to sleep rather late, you're definitely in good company. ...
http://thehustle.co/people-who-sleep-late-are-intelligent-creative
I'm in the night owl group....
I say just do whatever works for you, and don't worry about studies...

Anyone wake up super early?
5:30 is the earliest I can handle - I definitely do feel more productive when I get up earlier. Not happier per se LOL but definitely more motivated. Psychologically I like the idea of saying if I get up at A, I can get B/C/D done by E and then I'm able to do whatever I want for the rest of the day. I like being free with my time instead of rigidly structured or rushed because I ran out of time.

Anyone wake up super early?
I get up at 4:30 and it sucks. Especially since I have teenagers and they keep me up late, so I'm getting like 4-5 hours a night. Even on the weekends though, my body usually still wakes me up at that time.
I do not feel happier or more creative. Mostly I feel numb.

Re: Anyone wake up super early?
I wake up between 5-5:30. It only helps if I get myself in bed by 10 which I'm not always good at!
