anyone who is worried about their jobs in this economy come in

I am a RN and we are at no threat to losing our jobs.. in fact, it seems we are in such high demand that the nurses that are out there can't work enough to fill open spots! I swear i could work all day all night every day of the week!!!! Anyone looking for a secure career this might be it!

I'm a director of a large social work program. I feel quite secure in my job, although (i've said it before!!) I am not totally thrilled with my career choice. But when I start feeling like that, I do remind myself that it could always be worse and at least I am employed and bringing in a paycheck!

I am actually in school for this now.., I wanted to have a secure job that I could do anywhere we moved.

The job I have now is pretty secure, but doesn't pay enough, and its pretty specialized, so not easily moveable..Chat Icon

I am so scared I won't make through all the classes and boards though, just taking one day at a time.

Good luck!!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's hard, but you can do it. Like you said- just take it one day at a time and it will be over before you know it!

I just graduated (and am studying for my boards right now), so feel free to FM me if you ever have any questions!!!! Chat Icon

i would love to be a nurse. I don't know if I couild take the schooling necessary though.

Yes, I feel that my job could be in jeopardy but for now I know it's ok.

I think that we can all be replaced.

It's true! I'm a consultant at a nursing home and I see signs all over for positions for nurses and aides.

Not me but, I worry about DH. He works for the airlines. Enough said.Chat Icon We've already gone through one lay off but we were living in St. Louis at the time. If he gets layed off here, I don't know what we would do. Luckily though, his airline just announced it's most recent cuts and he's safe. But that's today. You never know what might happen tomorrow.

I am a buyer and I was already laid off once. We have had two lay offs in two weeks and no replacement people. They can not afford it. I am now handling three positions on one salary. Chat Icon
