Anyone work with people with a criminal justice background?
Do you know of resources in Nassau County to help them with finding housing?
Especially if they have a prison record, or multiple arrest charges that are pretty current? TIA.
ETA: Neither are homeless. They are both currently staying with family but need to get out for everyone's sanity.

are they looking to move out of a shelter/halfway house, or are they looking to get into one?

They are hoping to have their monthly rent subsidized through the state program I work for. However, try to get a landlord to accept that in many cases, let alone someone with an extensive criminal background. I will try social services, since the funding from our program is supposed to be last resort anyways. Thanks for your input!!

I agree with LB on social services. I think this could be a long shot, but I know my old law school, Hofstra Law has a Housing Rights Clinic and it might be worth a shot to have this person check with them-maybe they have another list of agencies that might help.
