DS has had issues since he was around 4 weeks old. His eczema is really bad and the heat doesn't help.
Today we found what looked like a hump on his back, from his neck to almost three inches down. It was oozing puss. We thought he was sweating at first, then we noticed how red and raised the area was. It almost looks like a burn. It's related to his eczema.
He has to see the dr tomorrow to get it checked out. So far the dr has us putting Neosporyne (sp?) on it every four hours.
The baby is a trooper. He's happy as can be and isn't uncomfortable in the least. Mommy on the other hand is a basket case!!
I'll admit I'm scared about what this really could be.
My DD1 has really bad eczema. Sometimes the rash will get so bad that it oozes (like you're seeing with your DS). Try to keep it clean and dry, but moist so he doesn't want to itch it.
I try to keep DD1's eczema under control by eliminating allergens (food and enviornmental) - keeping her skin moist and clean. I don't use any detergents, soaps with scents (perfumes), and when I see her start to itch I treat the spots immediately. Otherwise she will rip her skin apart.
