Anyone's DC have Torticollis?
About a month ago (DS was 8 months) we went to the Dr. for sick visit and the Dr. noticed that he tilts his head to one side (right side) (no flatting and could still turn with no problem). And he suggested that it could be his vision. So we made an appointment to see an Optometrist. We went and his tilt is not connected to his vision, but we did find out that he is more farsighted then babies. He said it might be mussel related, he may need PT.
At DS next appointment the Dr. suggested seeing PT. Yesterday we went to the PT and they said its a mild, mild case of Torticollis. He turns and lifts without a problem. She showed us some stretches to do, we have to go back next week she wants to see if it has improved. She said that it should improve within a month/month-&-1/2.
I'm so nervous my stomach is in a knots. I feel like its all my fault DS never liked tummy time. I put him down and he would cry.
Any DS child didn't improve? Or did it come back?--is that possible?

Re: Anyone's DC have Torticollis?
I know a handful of infants diagnosed with torticollis. They have all had PT and they are all thriving. One I know very well. She had PT as an infant. She is about 4 or 5 now and you would never know.

What was it severe? How long did she have PT?

Re: Anyone's DC have Torticollis?
My son had torticollis as an infant...born with it from positioning in the womb.
We saw a wonderful PT in Wantagh who grabbed my hands when I cried and promised it would be okay...she was right. PT was a huge help but you have to understand that it's only one piece...YOU will have to the stretching they show you at home to improve this situation.
But it can be corrected. If you do a search on my name you'll find lots of info I had posted along the way.
And today...you would never know that my son had torticollis
I first noticed it when he was a month old:
Most current picture of him straight on:
He has strength on both sides and no tightness.
Feel free to FM...everything will be okay. Just stick with it. I remember feeling the same things you are...it gets better

My dear friend's son had this as well due to positioning in the womb. He saw a PT who is also a close friend, and you'd never know!! You're DC is going to be just fine.

My DS had it too. At 4 months he started PT- and finished at around 10 months. We did the stretching exercises at home. His case was also very mild. It is nothing you did wrong. My DS also hated tummy time. The problem is usually when they are turned a certain way in the womb. I know this happened with my DS.
