anyones DH in restaurant managment?
Our pastor has a friend who owns a small business (2 plces) and is desperate for a mgr/general manager. DH is going to speak with him this am (like now).
We figured if he offers more than what he was making BEFORE The paycut AND lets us have benefits after 30 or 60 days, that he should go for it, at least for the meantime.

I wish your DH good luck, but most restaurants are cash and insurance is very rare to be offered.
I hope it's a different case for you and your DH. What happened with the Academy?

oh he took the test, passed-dropped off his background info today. It's just a waiting game for now. We're wondering if there isn't something for the meantime that would be better for us, even if temporary

Well I wish your DH good luck. $$ with restaurants can be good but just be prepared for really long hours and not seeing DH alot. I'm dealing with it now, and it's not always easy. I see DH for about a 1/2 hour a day

I already don't see him much, so I'm used to that from retail. Right now it's about the money and the benefits.

how big is the place he works? one place or a chain???
how good can the money be? What does he love about it and how involved is he in the day to day procedures?

Re: anyones DH in restaurant managment?
Not DH but I was. I went to school for it. First job out of college was managing a restaturant. Sometimes I miss the lifestyle but then I remember why I got out in the first place I worked nights then we would go out afterhours. Granted, I was still single and lived at home so this worked for me. When I realed I wanted more steady hours, I got out and went into Hotel Management. Very different!
