Anyone's dog been stung??

My mom thinks that one of her dogs was possibly stung by something.

He has a big lump under his throat that was never there before and last night wouldn't eat much... (food, dog treats, regular cheese)

And today it doesn't seem to have gotten better.

What should she do?

Should she take him to the vet right away? Give it a day to see if it gets better?

If it wasn't bothering the dog at all I would have maybe waited, but if it is bothering the dog enough that he's not eating I would take him to the vet.. better safe than sorry IMO

I hope he's ok Chat Icon

Take the dog to the vet.
Not eating normally would have me worried.

Thanks ladies!

My mom actually used an online vet service where you pay something like $9 and they can answer any questions you have with a "money back" guarantee if you're not satisfied!

The online vet said it sounded like something with the salivary glands (or ducts? IDK) and to take Charlie to the vet because they might be able to drain it.

Well, she did just that.. and that's exactly what it was! Something is going on with his salivary glands or ducts - not sure! And they drained 25ccs of fluid out of it! Chat Icon They're going to have that fluid tested... they said it was gel-like and not really like a normal liquid. They also did some bloodwork, so we're waiting on results of all of that.

He ate a little bit this morning my mom said, so I hope that's good news!
