Anyone's dog have really stinky breath
I get my dogs teeth cleaned and have given special dog bones and nothing helps. It's seriously the worse thing i ever smelled.
I have to take him to the vet next and I am really worried about what they are going to tell me.
Does anyone know what it maybe an indicator of? I searched the net but haven't really come up with anything.

Re: Anyone's dog have really stinky breath
I found a mint-flavored nylabone at Petco the other day... If it's not medical, that might help.
Ours has stinky breath too but that's because of what we feed him, so we've just accepted it.

How old is he?? and how often do you get his teeth cleaned? do you brush them in between getting them cleaned? Look in the back of his teeth are they decaying?? Or it may be his gums..

I can't brush his teeth by myself b/c he snaps. He is 8 years old. The last time I took him to get his teeth cleaned at the vet they pulled a tooth and I thought that would help but it really hasn't at all.

It sounds like your poor pups teeth are rotting.. I am sorry.. I think once it starts its very hard to stop.. Try odorless bully sticks they clean those teeth the best.. G/L

Re: Anyone's dog have really stinky breath
Our dog has bad breath, but thats because we feed him fish based dog food. He's less itchy and his coat is so much nicer, but whoa the fish breath.
If its not a food thing, it may be a lot of plaque. See what the vet finds.

What does it smell like? If it smells fishy it is most likely an issue with the anal glands. My Border Collie gets this siometimes. We have to have the vet or groomer release them regularly.
