Anyway to do an name change online on the NYS Dept of Ed website?
I need to apply for my perm cert BUT need to change my name since some things are in my maiden name

I changed my name recently online, but than had to mail them a copy of my marriage license. They changed it really quickly surprisingly

You only need to change your name if you're applying for a name change on a previously issued permanent certficate. that costs $25.00 for the same certificate in the new name. I did one that way...
the other certficate was provisional, so to make that permanent i applied and only paid the typical $100.00 fee. you may need to submit a photocopy of your marriage license... i sent that in, but onyl because i did it on the already permanent one.
I did everything online and had no problem. they trace your certificate by your social securty number, so it shouldnt' be a problem.
