Apartment mommies
Are you getting a monitor? If so, which one? I am so undecided. DC will be sleeping in the pack n play in our bedroom or in her crib one room away from us so I have been holding off on getting one thinking it might be unnecessary...

Re: Apartment mommies
we're definitely going to get one - but have no idea which one. The room for the baby is only a 30 second walk from the bedroom - but i have to sleep with the door closed...(since i was a kid)...so we'll definitely have to get one.

I go the Sony one that is recommended in Baby Bargains. It is only $50, someone got it for me off my registry.

Re: Apartment mommies
we registered for one, but it is not a total necessity
i feel like if the baby's door is closed and we are in the living room, i want to see if he is waking up of squirming without having to open his door and possibly then wake him

dd was in the basinet in our room for maybe 2 weeks and then moved to her crib (she wasnt a fan of the basinet) and we had the angelcare monitor..it gave us peace of mind even when she was next to us..hth

Re: Apartment mommies
I have a monitor for dd. She has her own room as of now, but will be sharing room with this baby once I feel they are both ready for it. I will keep monitor on her and get another one for this baby.

I am getting a video monitor-- this way, I can keep it on the nightstand and look at the video--while keeping the volume down. Also, we don't plan on staying in an apt forever-- so, we'll need a monitor eventually.
I htink I registered for the Summer one.

Re: Apartment mommies
I have a video monitor and love it!! It is great because my DD makes so much noise in her sleep that I wouldn't know if she is awake or not. It also helps when she wakes up but is likely to fall asleep again; I can tell by looking at her but can't if I just here her. For us, it isn't about being the distance to her room, it is about having the ability to see her. I even used it when she was sleeping in the PNP in our room talk about lazy
