Apple cider vinegar + honey for MS?

Since my MS is absolutely torturing meChat Icon I have been googling every and any possible remedy for some relief (I have gotten none - all day, 24/7 MS!)

A few times it came up to drink 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and 1 tablespoon of honey in cold water before bed -- sounds like it would make me yack but I'm up for trying anything -- did anyone else try this? Did it help?

Thanks!

That sounds really gross.

I heard that combination for acid reflux (heartburn) treatment... but not MS.

I just altered my eating schedule. I'd eat tiny meals (bit of bread w hummus, cup of milk, few carrots, ect) all day long & skip big meals. That worked well for me. I'd get MS starting at about 1-2 PM, worst at night. Totally went away with the small meals all the time.

Re: Apple cider vinegar + honey for MS?

I had HORRENDOUS morning sickness from weeks 6 to 19. I tried everything- ginger ale, saltines, small meals every hour, crystallized ginger, sea bands, etc.

The only thing that ended up helping me was to take 1/2 a Unisom tablet (doxylamine) and 50 mg of B6 before bedtime . I was hesitant at first to take any medication but there were days i was throwing up so bad that I was dizzy and lightheaded on the subway and I could barely eat.

My doctor told me its completely safe, and I even read about it in Fit Pregnancy recently. Here's a Babycenter article with more info.

HTH! It didn't take away all my symptoms but made it bearable to eat in the mornings/lunchtime.

You can have honey, babies can't. The mothers intestines can handle it & spores cannot be passed to baby (if your honey even has any). I have honey regularly.

Lemonade def helped my morning sickness! I think it was the sour taste that helped.

Re: Apple cider vinegar + honey for MS?

peanut butter on crackers helped a little for me sometimes. the dr said its the combo of the protein and carbs. i used to have 4 right before bed and 2 first thing in the morning. then anytime i felt nauseous i'd hit up the pb jar. peppermints also helped when the PB wasnt accessible.
also i used to keep a box honey cherrios in my car so in case i'd start to feel woozy i'd have something to munch on.

feel better!!!!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Apple cider vinegar + honey for MS?

I was desperate like you at the beginning and tried the apple cider vinegar, DON'T DO IT!!! It made me feel even worse for hours and hours, and I couldn't get the nasty taste out of my mouth. I'm usually pretty good with handling stuff like that and most things don't effect me but it was terrible. It's VERY strong!!!!
