Applying for unemployment $
I'm a teacher and I've been excessed. Contract ends June 30th. How do you go about applying for umemployment?

I think you need to wait until the week after your last day. You can file that next Sunday - or maybe Monday, can't remember. It says it in their FAQs though.
I'm sorry to hear you were excessed. I am a teacher looking for work as well. Good luck to you.

You file RIGHT AWAY after employment ends. Don't wait like suggested. They will tell you what week your eligibility starts (you WILL lose the first week, but if you don't file it will be pushed to whatever week you do file, there is not back dating).

In case anyone else wanted to know....the advice about calling right away was GREAT!! I called and was mailed my eligiblity statement, called again on the 7th for last week and will call again on the 11th for this week. Thanks again for the advice...it was right on the mark and very helpful!!
